Both choices are equal in terms of the duration of time I'll be spending. One will net me money, phone numbers (from ill advised women), and increased trust amongst my coworkers. The other will produce bloodshot eyes, dehydration, and isolation except for the characters I play with. Soo we have the pros listed let's talk cons.
Cons:
My Job: Speaking to strangers in a needful way, loss of power in my decision making, not much sleep (this is constant (no action changes this outcome)).
My Gaming Job: Speaking to no-one, eating more than a pregnant woman with a catered buffet, and lack of sleep with more dehydration than projected previously.
When it comes down to it, one obviously takes the cake here.. Neither; doing neither is my best bet. What do I mean? 6 out of my 7 days a week are spent working, normally it's 7 out of 7. You'd think I'd be sick of it, check. 6 out of my 7 days are also spent gaming, normally it's, you guessed it also 7 out of 7. Think I'd be queasy with that routine? A rhetorical yes again.
My life up until this point has emphasized, much to my detriment, the idea of innovation through spontaneity. I think creation is a product of that truthfully. Since moving to a new city with a much different identity, I (like most) have adapted to that. The adaptation to survive here revolves around the idea of routines and following rules. Today should be the exception to my beloved city Austin, TX. I'll let you know what happens.
Until then, we cheers,
Greg
